Dear Parents,
It has been a great first week back to school and lovely to see you all. This is the final term of this academic year; it is jam packed so please keep an eye on your emails and our newsletters to ensure you do not miss anything!
This week our year 2 children were visited by Alba from Evelina London’s Children hospital. They learnt all about keeping their bodies and minds healthy. Thanks to Miss Natasha Tomlin for organising this event.
On Friday all children received a dance workshop, they boogied away to various songs learning some new moves. The children had a great time as they completed their second PE lesson of the week! Thanks to Olivia Abrahams for organising the dance lessons.
On Tuesday we sent letter home to you all detailing our class mixes for September 2022. If you have any concerns, please speak to your child’s class teacher initially and then come and speak to me if you still have questions.
We monitored the children’s learning environments this week. We were pleased to see dynamic, creative classrooms where your children have great opportunities to learn. We will be focussing on reading areas and word rich classrooms this term, so please ask your child about their class text!
Next week we will be monitoring reading across the school. On Monday we will be visited by the local authority in preparation for Ofsted. Children will be selected to read with members of staff so please ensure you read with your child over the weekend and that they bring their book bag and books into school as usual.
On Thursday 16th and Friday 17th June our children will be taking part in their sports day at Burgess Park Sports ground. Please join us for some fun and to cheer your children on in their athletic events! We will be collecting donations for Cystic Fibrosis, a charity close to my heart. To raise awareness of this illness we are asking that all children wear yellow to school on Wednesday, 15th June 2022.

Lastly, I want to say a huge well done to all of our pupils in year 1 who took part in their phonics screening test this week. You did amazingly well, and we are all really proud of you. Next week year 4 will sit their multiplication test. All results from statutory tests will be shared along with teacher assessment levels on your child’s school report.
Have a great weekend,
