Over the next few weeks our Phase Leaders will be hosting coffee mornings. Please come along so you can find out how to help your child at home and see how we teach reading at school.
If you are unable to make it all, presentations will be uploaded to our website. https://grange.southwark.sch.uk/parent-coffee-morning-workshops/
This week I have met with a few parents who are keen to help the school grow, together we have decided to launch Grange PTA (Parent Teacher Association). We will be holding a meeting on Thursday, 7th October 2021 for you to attend, to see how you can join the PTA and what this will look like. Anyone can become a member and support given can be as much as you can give, for example donating a cake to sell at a cake stall, supporting the running of a Winter fair, or simply helping with a raffle. All support and ideas will be welcomed. If you are interested please come to the main school gate where I will meet you at 9am on Thursday 7th October 2021.
Today marks the beginning of Black History Month. Over the academic year I will be working closely with the schools curriculum leaders, to develop the wider curriculum offered at Grange. We will be looking at ways to ensure our curriculum offered is varied, creative and inclusive. Our aim is to develop a curriculum, which reflects all children at our school. Over the next few weeks children will be learning about significant Black British people who have made their mark on society. The work completed will be shared on our Twitter and Instagram page, as well as in the next few weeks newsletters. Displays will be created in our middle hall, showcasing the excellent work the children produce.
Coats:
As the weather is changing, we urge you to provide a coat for your child for school. We want to ensure children are out in the fresh air as much as possible, so they need to be wrapped up warm. Please remember to label your child’s items so they do not get lost.
