Dear Parents,
This week we visited class to observe reading lessons. We were very impressed with the learning taking place, and it was lovely to see so many children enjoying phonics and reading. As part of this process, we looked in book bags and read with some children. Unfortunately, many of the children did not have their reading home school diary with them at school. Please ensure you are reading with your child each day and sending their reading diary with them. We will be monitoring this over the next few weeks and making calls home to families where the diaries are missing.
Parent workshop
On Monday 20th November please come to the Albert McKenzie Hall for a Year 5/6 maths morning (Sky, Aurora, Neptune and Pluto). The workshop will take place at 9.15am.
Theatre trips
We are really lucky to have the Unicorn theatre right up the road. All classes will visit the theatre this year, Year 3 visited during this week and Year 4 will be visiting next week. If you are looking for an activity to take part in over the weekend or during the holidays take a look at the Unicorn Theatres weekend performances.

Winter concerts
Children in Years 1-6 will begin to practise their winter songs for our Winter Concerts. Religious carols are not sung in order for all to enjoy these events.
Labelling uniform
As the weather is getting colder many of you are sending your children to school with jumpers, coats, hats, gloves and scarves. Please ensure you label each of your child’s items so that if they lose them we are able to help you easily locate them. Items which are not labelled are impossible to identify.

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend and will see you all on Monday at 8.50am.
