Children in Sun class listened to the story entitled: “Stanley’s Stick” by John Hegley. Inspired by the story, children have used their own imagination and decided what their stick was going to be. Then they had fun decorating them. In Art we are still continuing painting our salt dough ‘fossils’ of dinosaur foot prints that children made last week. In Phonics children are learning alliteration that ‘Stanley’s Stick.’ story is full of.
We are also learning the following sounds: b, h, f, j and v. In Mathematics children are learning to order numbers to 10, we are looking at the numbers and what happens to them when we add ‘one more’ or take one away from a larger group of items. We are also learning about patterns. Children who are going up to Reception in September are excited to visit their new Reception this Thursday afternoon.
