On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day. The aim of the day was to celebrate the joy and value of books and the art of reading.
An amazing time was had by all and the love of books, reading, stories and poetry grows at Grange Primary School! The pupils and staff enjoyed dressing up in their favourite book characters. We had everyone, including our very dedicated staff, from a thoroughly modern Little Red Riding Hood to Mary Poppins.
Pupils attended an assembly where they paraded in their costumes. They also engaged in a number of exciting reading activities throughout the week. The children were enthralled and again loved the experience and seemed to really immerse themselves in a wide range of literature. During the past week we saw children being inspired and encouraged to enjoy books. Our them this year was ‘Hope’ inspired by the book ‘Wisp’.
A huge thank you to the amazing children of Grange Primary School for throwing themselves into the day, behaving brilliantly (of course!) and making the adults feel proud. Thank you, parents, for your efforts in getting costumes prepared/made.
World Book Day at Grange was a great success and we would like to thank all those involved – pupils, parents and staff. The joys and benefits of reading are enormous and we, at Grange hope to continue to encourage and enthuse all of our children with a love of reading that will last well beyond World Book Day. Best wishes from the Grange Team.
