Pupil Voice

The children in our school are the most important people! As such, they have lots of opportunities to share their thoughts on school issues – both formally and informally!

Building on this knowledge and understanding, pupils are equipped to use information technology to create programs, systems and a range of content. The approach ensures that pupils become digitally literate – able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology – at a level suitable for the future workplace and as active participants in a digital world.

School Councillors

The main aim of the School Councillors is to help make our school a better place for the children and to give them an opportunity to have their opinions and ideas heard. Each class from Year Two upwards has two representatives who are elected every year. The class representatives tell the children in their classes what has been discussed at each meeting and the children can ask the representatives to take forward their ideas to the next meeting.

Everybody gets a fair say in the meeting and nobody gets left out. The pupils this term have reviewed the current behaviour policy, met with the catering provider and offered suggestions. All points suggested have been taken on board and implemented.

Junior Leadership Team/ Peer mediators

To give our year 6 children some responsibility we have elected some year 6 Junior Leaders. These children will be responsible for handing out Dojos during transitions, resolving conflict in the playground and representing the school during the academic year.

Eco Council

Eco Council is a group of 20 pupils who meet each month to discuss eco friendly and environmental issues within the school which prepare children to live their future lives with a consideration for global issues. We have recently been discussing litter and ensuring we keep the streets of London clean for everyone to enjoy. To support this the children will be raising funds to purchase new bins for the school playground as well as writing to the council to have some more little bins put outside of the school. Every child who belongs to the Eco Council has a special badge so they are easily recognisable.
