Dear Grange families,
It has been another positive week at Grange Primary School and the pupils are continuing to work hard, continue to wash their hands regularly and stay in their class bubbles. It is important that the pupils continue to see themselves as a school community rather than a ‘class bubble’ so that we share the same aims and expectations.
Our Reception and Nursery children are also settling confidently into their classes. Their teachers are very pleased with the way they are sitting so sensibly in the Albert McKenzie Hall eating their lunches.
Assessments
The teachers will be assessing the pupils over the next two weeks in reading, writing and maths so that the learning progression is tailored to meet the needs of every pupil. We are aware that some learning may have been missed during the lockdown period so teachers will prioritise teaching the pupils the key skills in reading, writing and maths to ensure a good understanding before moving forward to the next steps. We are also ensuring that pupils continue to access all of the curriculum subjects together with a focus on wellbeing and being able to talk about anything that is worrying them.
Rule of Six
Parents please do not gather in groups outside the school at the end of the day. The rule of sixincludes your children. You should disperse quickly. The rule of six now applies when you are outside of school given children are no longer on an education site.
Flu Immunisations– Tuesday, 6th October 2020
Flu vaccinations are being offered this year to every primary school child. All parents should have received a letter requesting written consent for each of your children to receive the vaccination. Please return these forms to school by Monday, 28th September 2020. The form has a section where you can refuse to give consent if you choose. This vaccination is a spray that is inserted through the nostrils. We would encourage all parents to return the consent forms to the school even if you do not give consent.
Enjoy your weekend!
Best wishes from the Grange Team.
