Dear families,
Welcome to the new academic year one and all! A special welcome to our new families here who recently joined Grange Primary School. We began the year celebrating one of our core values, HOPE. Hope is a very powerful feeling and can make a big difference no matter how big or small the dream is. We want from the very start to help our children in making big plans for the year ahead. The children wrote letters expressing their hopes and dreams. These letters will be kept till the end of the year and then revisited again. Please talk to your child at home to find out what they have decided to focus on this year.
Education and your child’s success is about us working in partnership to ensure that your child reaches their true potential, wherever their talent lies. Therefore, as the new term begins, may I take this opportunity to ask again that you support us with the following, as these things really do make a difference:
Ensure your child comes to school wearing the school uniform and equipped to work and with the right attitude towards learning.
Ensure your child attends at all times. At all the schools I have worked in I have been struck by the strength of the connection between students’ attendance and their attainment. Students with high attendance are almost always among the highest achievers.
Thirdly, there really is no substitute for hard work. Children who routinely complete their homework always do well, so please support and encourage this.
Over the next few weeks we have important Parents’ Information dates which I would urge you to attend, as they help you to support your child with their learning, and much essential information is given out at the meeting.
The forthcoming Information dates are:
- Year 6 Secondary Transfer – Monday 16 September 17:00- 18:00
- Parent teacher meetings Years 2& 4 – Tuesday 17 September
- Parent teacher meetings Years 3& 5 – Thursday 19 September
- Parent teacher meetings Year 6 – Monday 23 September
We hope to see you there at the first important meeting with the class teacher. With the start of this school year, new colleagues joined our team. I am excited to introduce you to the new Grange staff:
