This morning our Year 5/6 Netball team braved the wind and rain to compete in this year’s LPESSN Netball Competition, with the prospect of the winner going on to represent Southwark at Crystal Palace in the Central London School Games.
This was the first time that a few of the boys had played netball, but half way through our first game they looked like pros already. A comfortbale 3-1 win in our first game got us off to a very positive start; this was quickly followed by two 0-0 draws.
A good team performance in our last group game saw Adejola add to his tally of points as the team strolled to a 3-0 win.
Having finished second in our group, the team now faced a very good St. Joseph’s in the semi finals. This seemed a step too far, as our attacking players struggled to take control of the game. Our defence did well to keep us in the game, but time was not on our side and St. Joseph’s added another point,  winning 2-0.
Many positives can be taken in to this year’s LPESSN Netball League which starts in May. Netball Training starts on Wednesday 24th February.
Team: Adejola, Kaiden, Alpha, Jodie, Ida, Niloufar.
