Parent Governor Required:
A vacancy exists for a parent governor on Grange Governing Body. This role is open to all parents and guardians of children in this school.
Becoming a governor is an opportunity to help shape and guide the vision and leadership of the school, especially as we look ahead to the new buildings and fully refurbished classrooms.
Ofsted found Grange to be a good school in October 2012 and since then we have worked to make learning even more focussed and enjoyable for our children. This could not be achieved without the ongoing active engagement of our parents and carers.
Some information follows below, but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to one of the headteachers, or Kim Edwards, School Business Manager. Alternatively, speak to Clare Pooke and/or Rosie Hall, staff governors, or one of our parent governors, or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Governors meet in the evenings, invariably on Mondays. There are five full governing body meetings a year. In addition, every governor belongs to a committee, requiring attendance at between three and five additional meetings a year. This commitment to attend up to ten meetings a year must be taken into consideration.
If you wish to stand as a candidate, for this interesting and challenging position, letters and nomination forms will be sent home on Monday 20th February and should be returned to the school office no later than 15:30 on Friday 3rd March. You will need to ask another parent or carer to support the nomination, or if you nominate someone else, ask them to sign to agree to the nomination. Should more than one person be nominated, then an election will be held in mid March.
