On Monday 30th October we were delighted that Councillor Vikki Mills, Cabinet Member for Children and Schools, Neil Coyle, MP and Nina Dohel, Director of Education were able to attend the official opening of our new Nursery. Vikki cut the ribbon, ably assisted by a Nursery pupil; Neil congratulated Southwark Council on their investment in children and schools and Nina released balloons with the Nursery children to mark this significant occasion.
Our nursery is the last of our new buildings to become occupied and marks the end of the construction at the front of our school. Refurbishment continues in the Victorian building, due for completion at Christmas and further works will be undertaken in the summer break of 2018.
Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all involved with the new building works and for the effort and commitment shown to give Grange children the learning environment they deserve: Southwark Council; the Southwark Regeneration team; Morgan Sindall, building contractors; Maccreanor Lavington, architects; Mace, project management and the Worshipful Company of Weavers for their generous donations towards the new Nursery furniture and stage lighting system in the new hall.
Towards the end of February we will be holding some open events to allow parents, carers and the wider community to visit and see the full scope of the investment in our children. Until then, please see the section “Watch Grange Grow – the work is now complete” to get the flavour of our school.
