Last Friday, the pupils, teachers and parents at Grange Primary School were delighted to be given the opportunity to enjoy delicious cakes and raise money for an excellent charity.
Since 1990, the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning has helped to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The event has proven to be extremely successful, with more than £200 million being raised over the last 29 years, helping the charity continue the fight against cancer. Showing great initiative, our Grange Family planned a cake sale to support Macmillan. The staff baked and donated a variety of delicious treats to sell, ranging from cupcakes to delightful pastries. A number of parents were also generous enough to donate their own cakes to be sold.
The cake sale ran beyond school hours, and our staff kindly stayed after school to help sell the cakes. They were extremely busy, selling lots of cakes and raising £430.57 for the charity.
With millions of people across the UK being affected by cancer every day, Grange Primary School is proud to have made a contribution to the Macmillan Cancer Support cause. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the pupils and teachers who donated, as well as the staff who arranged the event and made our fundraising possible.
